[We] had been worried this cabin wouldn’t be great after reading some other people’s opinions. But we really loved this Signature Suite accessible cabin other than feeling badly that it was offered to us as a paid upgrade close to sailing, which meant that someone else had to cancel a trip at the last minute. It is true it’s windy on the balcony when the ship is moving, and might be hard for a wheelchair to get onto balcony. I am not sure it’s windier than other cabins not at the front. But cabin is huge compared to regular verandah cabins. And we loved the extra window at the front (we closed the blackout curtains at night as requested but didn’t interfere with our enjoyment especially in Alaska since it stayed light late). It seems odd that an accessible cabin would be so far from an elevator, so that’s a negative for some, for sure.
And yes, the extra big balcony is two sections: one right outside the cabin with a small table and 2 chairs, and a section in front of it with 2 lounge chairs. On Alaska cruise they do open the bow at the Hubbard and College glaciers, but amazing to have our own “private section” with almost 180 degree views and pop back into cabin for tea if we got cold. Felt very spoiled for two generally frugal people.
