We just returned from the 20 day SE Asia cruise on the Maasdam. She’s still a lovely ship, but showing her age and can stand some refurbishing. You’ll see the television is still the postage stamp size on the shelf over the desk; what you can’t clearly see is the water stain on the lampshade and photo, and the torn curtain on the left side of the bed. We had a lovely time and didn’t let the shortcomings colour our enjoyment of the itinerary and people who make HAL the cruise line of choice for us.
