This is an ocean view cabin on the starboard side a short distance forward of the forward elevators and staircase. We were pleasantly surprised that we could not hear performances of BB King’s All Star Band or the Rolling Stone Rock Room Band here, it was quiet and calm here. Didn’t like the carts in the hallway used by the room stewards but I surely understand the need for them, but the hallways are more narrow than previous classes of HAL ships. The room is functional with good storage, but if you have 3 people in it, hanging closet space will be tight. The window of the cabin has a deep ledge and there is unused area between the curtains and the outside wall for storage. The bathroom is spartan with little storage. A sign suggests saving water by reusing towels but there’s no place to hang used towels that isn’t in the way of something else. The shower is roomy. The AC worked ok but I’m beginning to doubt that the device on the wall is a thermostat in the normal sense. You must place a card in a holder by the door to activate the lights but the AC and TV seem to be powered independently of this. Any credit card sized card will do, it need not be your room key. We would certainly book this room again.
