Loved this Lower Promenade deck room, just off the BIG “verandah”. It was a “C” in 12-2009, but now it is an “E.” The room is one of just 2 rooms located between the door to the outside promenade and the lowest floor of the atrium. We shared a wall with an officer’s office, the Hotel Manager. Ther is no cabin across from this room. I was concerned that we were “behind” the elevators but never heard noise from them. In a 21 day cruise we did hear the big door to the outside promenade slam a couple of times but it wasn’t an issue. The room is a bit shorter than OV rooms on other decks so it has a loveseat instead of a couch but I loved the proximity to the outside and the forward elevators. The view is, IMO, is a bit obstructed by a pillar but it was very nice for us nonetheless, especially considering we were assigned this room on an OV guarantee. I even sat in the window sill to watch part of our transit through the Panama Canal locks, enjoying the air conditioning (!!!) and room service – the best of all worlds! We had no problems with people seeing inside the room from the outside deck because of the excellent reflective coating on the window, but we closed the curtains in the evening, nothing to see outside anyway then!
