I am sorry to say that this is the first room that we have booked on Holland that we have been disappointed in. Our first exposure to a Neptune Suite was a wrap around on Eurodam’s sister ship the Nieuw Amsterdam and upon our return from that cruise I immediately upgraded from a signature suite to a wrap around on the Eurodam for our Panama Sunfarer 11 day cruise. We were so impressed with that room. The Eurodam is no comparison at least not for this suite. The room was extremely small. We had to have them take the table and chairs out of the room in order for us to be able to walk around. This was an adjoining room so the normal closet behind the vanity area was not there. The only closet space is what you see in the pictures and we had to have them move the beds together in order to fully open the closet doors. And then the door was right up to the bed. My mom is 88 so it was a bit challenging for her to navigate. The bathroom was huge and very roomy. The wrap around balcony was smaller that the one on the Nieuw Amsterdam but still lovely.. The only problem was the banister on the wrap around railing – there was no way to lean on it without getting splinters. I have included pictures of that – it definitely needed some work.
I am usually pretty even keeled but for what we paid for this suite – it was definitely not worth the extra funds. I would pick a Neptune Suite mid ship. Again …I do not know if the other wrap around suites are the same but I would certainly try to check it out and check HALFACTS to see if photos are available before booking.
On the plus side, the food and the service of our room stewards and the staff everywhere was, as always, exceptional. Especially the Staff at the Pinnacle Grill. Totally outstanding as always. That is the main reason we always cruise with Holland – the service and the staff cannot be beat.
