Cabin 7031 was comfortable, spotlessly clean, and spacious. It was very quiet – away from the elevators, and we did not experience any noise from the Lido above. As a family of four we had plenty of room, though the pull-out sofa is more appropriate for one adult or two kids, and would not be comfortable for two adults. There were only two drawbacks to this cabin – first, it is one of about 10 Neptune Suites that are located under the Lido overhang. The photos of the veranda are intended to show the overhang and its effect on the view from the veranda. The overhang provides shade and protection from rain, but as we were cruising the Fjords it also limited our view. Second, the curtains in this cabin (and likely in all the cabins on the ship) are not heavy enough to block out the sun. When cruising in the “land of the Midnight Sun” this is a problem – one of the photos below was taken at 11 PM, with full sun shining into our cabin. HAL should invest in blackout curtains of the kind found in most hotels.
