Actually the cabin was quite roomy. I could not see a difference at all in sq ft from a regular Ocean View on Main Deck to the Lanai (I actually went and took a peek at one on Main Deck). Because of the bed figuration similar to a balcony cabin I found it to be far more pleasing and allowed so much more light in the cabin. There was slightly less drawer space with the dressing table not having drawers but on top of the stool under the dressing table was tray to be able to place all my cosmetics and things to be out of the way..
As others have stated the doors are quite heavy but we had no problems with them and would definitely take a Lanai cabin if we were not able to get a Vista or Neptune as was the case with this cruise.
The other plus is the new showers, they are wonderful, what a pleasure the new bathroom was. Lots of room, shower head was great and it made the bathroom feel so much larger.
