I shared this room with two granddaughters on an Alaska cruise way back in May 2009. (I hated to blur out the face of our beautiful granddaughter but alas it’s the world we are in now!) The rooms is forward, starboard on Dolphin deck. The smaller child and her teddy bear slept on the “upper” which we left folded down all week. The other child (15) complained that she couldn’t sit up in her bed with the cot above her, not enough head room. But this was still better than having the couch made up as a bed all week as we used the couch and coffee table for room service breakfasts. The portholes were useful, fun to the children, but not great for viewing as they are deep, maybe 18″; I wouldn’t have gone for a porthole room except that is what was available as we needed two rooms together (the girls in one with Grandma, and the boy in the other with Grandpa) and it was barely more $ than for Insides. Location was quiet, and easy from the elevators so the children weren’t tromping past many other staterooms. I believe it had four closets. And the room steward brought child-size bathrobes for the two younger ones, nice!
